Progressive commentary from Gainesville, Florida, once called the Berkeley of the South. Potano was the chief of and the only known name of the Native American tribe inhabiting the area around what is now Gainesville at the time the Europeans arrived.

I got home from the concert almost two hours ago. The cover of the program and the list of pieces within are posted above. Both performances went well. The sanctuary was packed for first one in the afternoon and half full for the second one at night. Both lasted about one hour and twenty minutes and drew standing ovations. We all loved singing for the audience. I greatly look forward to our next concerts in the spring. rehearsals begin in January.

Voices Rising Performances TodY

I do not have much time right now, but today The Voices Rising Choir, of which I am a part, is performing today. We will give to concerts today at 3 p.m. And 7 p.m. They will be at the First United Methodist Church on 419 NE 1st Street in downtown Gainesville, Florida. The program will include a tributes (two songs each) to the late Nelson Mandela and the late Pete Seeger.
