Coke drops support of Republican National Convention

Many companies have been contributing to this year’s Republican National Convention. This or unusual and is disturbing but predictable. What is unusual and much more disturbing is that THIS year the RNC promises to be led by casino owner, favorite of white supremicists, and model for Biff Tanen Donald Trump.

The notable civil rights organization Color of Change therefore launched a petition campaign, focusing mostly the Coca Cola Corporation, to convict these concerns to cut of their support of the GOP convention. This effort has achieved its first victory. The New York Times has reported that Coke has dropped its support of the convention.

Although many companies remain, Coke’s reversal is an excellent start that shows the power of petitions. Let us hope that it will be the first of many.
